Stanghelle, Dale, Trengereid, Vaksdal, Arna, Bergen

Today I will be going back to Sweden, I will travel by train from Voss to Bergen, then take a flight to Stockholm.
Voss in the morning

Stanghelle
Between Voss and Bergen, there are many more stations and more frequent services than between Voss and Hønefoss, so it is possible to visit more places during the day
The line between Bergen and Voss is called Vossebanen, and it opened in 1883 as a narrow-gauge railway, with no connection further east of Voss at the time. The line was extended to Hønefoss and converted to standard gauge in 1909.
Between Stanghelle and Trengereid stations, the railway runs along the Sørfjorden (Osterøy).

Today is also a beautiful summer day with clear blue sky. Unfortunately, there are not many freight trains here on Saturdays; there is only one today

No camping

Long distance train from Olso to Begen

When you are living in the fjords, you have to be prepared that the sun is not always shining on your side.
Visiting Dale station

Some long distance day and night trains are stopping here

Dale is famous for its wool sweaters and outdoor jackets textile industry

Textile workers

Arriving at Trengreid

There is a double track here, one is in a tunnel. Unfortunately the only freight train today was in the tunnel when I reached this station, so I missed it.
I will have to enjoy the scenery instead

Tesla has been top top-selling car in Norway for the past years

Not allowed to enter on this side of the building

Part of the platform is located inside the tunnel, just like at the Cinque Terre

Visiting Vaksdal station

Vaksdal is a town in Vaksdal Municipality in Vestland, Norway. The city is located by Sørfjorden in the southwest of the municipality, and had 959 inhabitants as of 1 January 2023. Vaksdal, like the municipal center Dale, is an old industrial site. At the end of the 19th century, Vaksdal Mill was established in Vaksdal due to access to power from nearby waterfalls. The waterfall was first harnessed to power the mill machinery, and then a traditional power plant was established. Vaksdal Mill was, at the time, the largest mill facility in Northern Europe. Arna station

Between Arna and Bergen there are even more frequent services

Bergen

Taking the light rail to Bergen airport

It's a convenient ride to the airport

A snack before the flight

Bergen-Stockholm flight is operated with this Canadair Bombardier plane

In Stockholm, there is a bus from the plane to the terminal

I'm back home now. Still light at night, as it is practically the midninght sun times
