One more stopover in Zurich, this time I'm heading to the Gotthard railway
Take a train from the airport
After passing the Gotthard base tunnel, I'm near Bellinzona
It's already halfway to March, but there is snow in this region

Modernized version of Traxx AC1 with ERTMS installed, as these trains are using the new Base tunnel. Still, it is necessary to have double locomotives.

On my way back, I'm taking the old Gotthard railway
Airolo station is located 1175 m above sea level
As now all freight trains are taking the new tunnel, this railway is rather empty
The only trains here are the regional passenger services
