I have a long stopover, so I have to spend a night in Frankfurt
The area around the station is not the nicest in Frankfurt, but it has its charm anyway

Frankfurt's red-light district is in the Bahnhofsviertel. The district was more and more dominated by prostitution, especially after 1945. The reason is that during World War II, the area was only slightly damaged by bombs, and many of the hotels located there were used by the US occupation forces for the accommodation of military personnel. The great poverty of the German population and the comparatively wealthy US soldiers formed the sociocultural backdrop for the emergence of the red light district at this point. (Wikipedia)
