Barcelona, Gelida, Cerdanyola-Universitat, Sant Cugat Coll Fava

Last days in Catalonia and Barcelona during this trip
It has been a very sunny but also very chilly week here
Barcelona is beautiful even when its cold outside

Running/walking in central Barcelona

The city's crown jewel is, of course, La Sagrada Familia.

More of Barcelona, now from the sea side

The beach is empty in the winter

Going up on Tibidabo mountain

All Barcelona can be viewed from here

And now, finally, some trains
At Gelida station, on the line Barcelona-St Vicens de Calders (via Vilafranca)

Cerdanyola-Universitat at the railway line from Castellbisbal to Mollet de Valles
The line was built in 1982 to bypass central Barcelona for the freight trains, and since 1995, there have also been passenger trains on the line
Here is 006 008, a standard gauge Stadler Euro6000 with country package E, F (and also LU)
Captrain EspaƱa asked Spanish artist and designer Javier Mariscal to design the locomotive uniquely, celebrating the Mediterranean Corridor and rail traffic to France and Luxembourg.
This train was using the standard gauge line from Perpignan to Mollet, then switching on this line, which is a dual gauge railway, and continuing to the port of Barcelona.

On this line, freight trains from Cerbere/Port Bou also use the Iberian gauge.

Visiting Montseny Massif near Barcelona and the highest peak - Turó de l'Home (1,712 m)

It's windy and chilly here.

Montserrat mountain is seen from here.

At the end of this post, some photos from a visit to a Michelin restaurant near Barcelona (Les Magnolies)
The food is expensive but exquisite
