Alingsås

It's Christmas and usually, I'm starting an Interrail trip through Europe during this time of the year. I had plans for this year too, but I had to cancel everything some weeks before when I realized it will not work this year due to Covid. Instead, it will be a short trip around Sweden today starting with Alingsås.
It has been grey and rainy all December, Christmas Eve was the first sunny day for a long time, unfortunately, today will be the last sunny day for a while once again.

At Alingsås it is already the sunset

The hotel I'm staying at is just next to the station

Not many freight trains today, but here is one
Hector Rail timber transport operates usually in the north of Sweden, but starting from the end of 2020 also in the south. Timber transports for the Södra company will be carried out by Vectron locomotives from Hector Rail. Also, Hector Rail locomotives will be used for the new passenger service later in 2021 operated by Flixtrain.
