Lissone, Desio, Camnago-Lentate, Carimate, Cantù-Cermenate, Cucciago

After staying 3 nights in a hotel in Lambrate, I'm leaving Milan. But before I leave, I will visit the Milan-Chiasso railway

Freight trains do pass through Lambrate station, here is one

Lissone station
ETR 610 on the way to
EC 156 to Basel

EC250 Stadler "Giruno"
The new train is now used on most services between Milano and Zurich

The new train has space for over 800 passengers in double composition
Desio
Regional trains TILO are also crossing the border between Italy and Switzerland
Not only passenger trains are traveling to Switzerland
193 473 "Luino" on the way to Germany
The locomotive is named after town Luino which is located at the single track line Cadenazzo-Luino. As I will find out later, most freight trains are taking that route instead of this one.

Camnago-Lentate

The line belonging to ERTMS Corridor A is to be the first Italian line to be fully equipped with ETCS Level 2. The contract announced in January 2016 runs for two and a half years and is worth 31 million euros. The route is also to receive an electronic interlocking. (Wikipedia)

I'm now on one of oldest wagons in Italy in service

FS "Casaralta" train from 1979
Carimate

Cantù-Cermenate

189 990, SBB Cargo

Last station I visit today is Cucciago, and I'm almost near lake Como and the border to Switzerland
